Walk to Rayne
A varied 40 minute walk across farmland to the nearby village of Rayne.
In Rayne, there is a Post Office, local convenience shops, pubs (The Swan & The Welsh Princess) and two restaurants, No 47, and a little further down on the same side of the street, a great Indian called Voujon.
There is also the Railway Cafe which is a converted station and waiting room located along the old railway line between Braintree and Dunmow.
The old railway line now forms part of the popular Fitch Way for runners and walkers alike.
Walk to Andrewsfield
It's just an easy 50 minute walk or 10 minute drive, from Golden Grove to Andrews Airfield. And it's a great place to relax, enjoy a coffee or a beer and watch the light aircraft take off and land on the grass runway.
Built by the Americans during WW2, named after the American General Andrews. Andrewsfield is well worth a visit, you may even learn to fly!
